I was born, raised, educated,
and married right here in Westerville. Married to my high school
sweetheart for 42 1/2 years. We moved from here for 20+
years on job transfers in the soft drink business. We had a son and
a daughter, grandsons/ granddaughters. Unfortunately , at age
56 Bud was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and battled for the next 4
1/2 years. Our primary focus was our family and helping
others whenever we could. We
were both active in church, community, Masonic, Shrine as
well as other organizations.
Chapter two: After
losing him to cancer, I was alone for some time, (too long) until
meeting my current husband Dick Underwood. We met in the Riverside
Hospital Hospice Spousal Grief Recovery group. He also lost his
wife to cancer. A little over a year later we were married
in the same church I was married in
the first time with all children, grandchildren, and all members of our
extended families in attendance.
We spend our winters in
Florida to give Dick some time with his son and family and to escape the
cold. He lost a daughter shortly before we were married. She
had two sons and a daughter whom we see on our trips south and usually
one other time during the year.
My children are in Athens
and Springfield so we see them on a regular basis. We baby-sit
my/our great-granddaughter, Elizabeth one or two days a week while her
parents attend OSU. Yep, she was a beautiful oooooooppppsss!!
We enjoy biking, travel,
family and friends. I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, sewing,
and cooking for more than 2. I love my water garden.
As you can see, I have
experienced the valleys and peaks that life has to offer and look
forward to each new day.
