I
was born on July 31, 1947 to the Rev. Dallas & Stella Fitzwater in
Meadow Bridge, WV. My full
name is Carolyn Sue. I was an only child.
I attended Meadow Bridge Elementary where my mother was a 4th
grade teacher and then Meadow Bridge High School where I graduated in
1965. (My mother was my 4th
grade teacher). In high
school I was very active in the band and was a majorette which I enjoyed
immensely.
I
married my high school sweetheart but unfortunately the marriage only
last 7 years. I did however
have two beautiful children from that marriage.
My son Alan lives here in Ohio and my daughter Christi lives in
Austin, TX. My son received his Master’s degree from Virginia Tech and
works for Cardinal Health in Dublin.
He is married to Denissa and has two children, Ryan and Katelyn.
Hence the reason for leaving good old sunny Florida.
My daughter has a BA from Florida State and works for a Title
company in Austin.
Shortly
after the divorce I met Bill. The
love of my life. He was a
mechanical engineer and worked the last 10 years of his life within the
airline industry. When you
see the big machine at the airport that transfers containers to the
airplanes—that was his baby. We lived many places during our marriage.
WV, VA, Houston, TX, and Atlanta, GA were some of the places we
called home. We finally settled in Florida where we had planned to spend
the rest of our lives. Sadly
he passed away 2 years ago at the very young age of 56.
We had 32 years together.
My
interests include playing tennis. I
started playing in Florida. I
was on many different ladies teams that traveled to the different clubs.
I really enjoyed that and have found some very nice ladies to
play with here in Ohio.
I
have worked many different places usually in something involved in
accounting. I did go back to school in my 40’s and finished with
a BA in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I have done
some volunteer work for a Women’s Center and also a Conservation
District in Florida. Presently I am working part-time for a
company in Worthington.
I
like mysteries, puzzles, history and traveling.
I have been to England, Italy, Greece and Australia and am
looking forward to someday going to Egypt, Germany and going on an
African Safari.
The
lilac is one of my favorite flowers, hence the name LADY LILAC.
